The pass protection and the running game were a disaster for the Detroit Lions in 2015.  It had a direct hand in why they weren’t able to win a lot of the close games they played (Hail Marys aside).  Until this problem is fixed they can’t hope to wage an assault for the division crown against Green Bay and Minnesota with their respectable defenses.  Reinforcements are required. <p> </p> <p>There is no better place to start than the bothersome right tackle spot where they failed to find any consistent starter.  Taylor Decker was a left tackle for Ohio State but everything about him from his massive size to his punishing run blocking makes him a prototypical fit on that side.  Yet he’s a much better athlete than he gets credit for.  He moves well in space and rarely suffers any significant breakdowns in his protection.  This is the best help the Lions are going to find.</p>.
