Harvard’s Cole Toner was a two year starter at right tackle, and was named to the first team All-Ivy League his junior and senior seasons. At Greenwood, Indiana’s Roncalli High School, he was named a National Merit Society honoree and played both basketball and football earning all-state honors.

Toner was invited to the 2015 Reeses Senior Bowl in recognition of the hard work he put in at Harvard.

He is graduating this May with a focus in government and economics.

  • Measurables:

    Height 6’5″

    Weight 308 lbs.

    Arm Length 33 1/8″

    Hand Width 9 3/4″

    Workout Results:

    40-yd Dash 5.32 seconds

    3 Cone Drill 7.88 seconds

    20-yd Shuttle 4.59 seconds

    Bench Press Reps 22

    Broad Jump 103″

    Strengths:

He has good timing in blocking, won’t jump the gun and is able to strategically give up ground to better suit his style. He has an aggressive approach in pass protection that GMs love. In pass situations he doesn’t wait for the end to make the first move, he takes it to them.

He has the ideal size and toughness for an NFL tackle. He had the benefit of practicing against a few current NFL players at Harvard, and had reported success against them. He garnered the attention of a former NFL GM, Phil Savage, when receiving a Senior Bowl Invite.

    Weaknesses:

Despite his basketball background, he doesn’t have the best body control. His hip control is questionable, and he sits too high up in his stance. He doesn’t have ideal strength, on tape you can notice him getting pushed around. While his pass pro is one of the best assets of his game, he isn’t quick in it.

Lacks the ideal foot quickness to be able to match up against NFL edge rushers. Antsy after the snap, rushes into point of attack instead of letting it occur naturally.

    Overview:

Toner had success in the Ivy League, but his success in the NFL will be limited. He projects to be a back-end of the roster player, and a backup. His tape was solid, but the level of competition in the Ivy League will be brought up during discussions about and with him.

His lower ceiling may prevent him from being drafted even in the later rounds, but he could be picked up as an undrafted free agent.
