Scouting Notes

Hemingway looks like a very intriguing WR/TE/H-back prospect. He’s clearly very raw in his route running ability, and doesn’t have the ideal TE bulk (244 pounds) but the quickness and vertical speed are evident and he could be a mismatch going forward in the NFL.

Was listed at 210 pounds in his senior season, so you have to think NFL teams are going to pay very close attention to the kind of workout plan he’s on.

He only had two touchdowns the past two seasons, which is odd to me considering he played at a lower level of competition and should have been absolutely dominant given his physical traits. A lot of that can probably be blamed on poor quarterback play, but you would also think coaches would scheme ways to get this kind of athlete the ball.

Hemingway is a nightmare for linebackers to have to try and cover because he’s so quick in a short area. That was on display at the Combine when he was among the best in the TE group in the 3-cone drill and shuttle drills.

If an NFL coach is able to get a year to work with this kid, and he gets in the weight room and bulks up to about 250 pounds, he could be a force in this league. I don’t think his contributions will be immediate, necessarily, but this is the type of athlete you want to try and fit in your offense because he is a mismatch waiting to happen.
