Rams Acquire First Overall Pick From Titans: Instant Reaction

Wow is right. In a move that has shocked the NFL world, the Los Angeles Rams have traded up for the first overall pick with the Tennessee Titans. 

As this trade is just coming in, the NFL Mocks staff all gave their instant reaction to the move and how it will shake up draft boards across the league.

Erik: It’s something draft fans long for every year because it changes the entire dynamic of the draft. Now the board shifts in ways we can’t imagine, as should the landscape of the league depending on what the Titans and Rams are able to do with their respective moves. This is why people love the draft so much.

Matthew: For many people it will look like an awful trade. For me, I’ve learned not to bash moves made by the Rams right away. They always seem to have a way of working out in their favor. Their front office has been arguably the best in the league the last 4 years now so now that they are most likely taking Wentz with the top pick it should be fun to watch how it all unfolds.

Shawn: First thing I thought of was that it must have been the Titans starting the rumors about Ronnie Stanley falling in the draft. Have to believe they would take him in a heartbeat if he’s still there at 15.

Brady: As a Cowboys fan, I’m loving this trade. It increases the chances they can select Jalen Ramsey or strengthens their ability to trade down if needed (for instance, if Tunsil were available). It’s a huge trade, but should pay dividends for both franchises. Rams obtained both a 4th & 6th this year, while losing a 1st and 3rd next year. Not too bad to jump from 15 to 1.
