3. San Diego Chargers

FS. Florida State. Jalen Ramsey . 3. player. 13. The obligation of every GM is to take the absolute best player on their board. It’s hard to justify the San Diego Chargers passing on Jalen Ramsey here since he’s the best overall in the draft. A unique talent in that he can play any position in the secondary and has the size, toughness, speed and instinct to thrive regardless. As close to a sure thing as there ever can be.

It shouldn’t be a surprise for other reasons besides talent though. The Chargers had a rather ugly falling out with Pro Bowl safety Eric Weddle, who leaves a gaping hole in a secondary that regressed last season. Ramsey could plug right into Weddle’s customary spot at free safety who give them a cornerback with more length than what Jason Verrett and Brandon Flowers can author. The possibilities are near limitless and their entire defense will benefit.
