facebooktwitterreddit

In a running back class dominated by names like Ezekiel Elliott and Derrick Henry, Kenneth Dixon somehow falls through the cracks when it comes to naming the best backs in this years draft.

One of the leading scorers in NCAA history, Dixon is a projected second round pick who would be a steal based on his on-field play at Louisiana Tech.

Here’s a look at Kenneth Dixon and what NFL teams can expect to see from him this fall.

    Strengths

Kenneth Dixon is a hard runner who will pull out his best Marshawn Lynch impression every once and a while. His excellent balance and lower body strength help him gain yards after contact on a consistent basis.

He can also bring good acceleration and enough breakaway speed to create separation between himself and trailing defenders.

Finally, look to see him be a contributor in the receiving game. He showed he can either catch balls outs of the back field or even line up as a receiver.

    Weaknesses

The first thing you have to point out with Kenneth Dixon is durability. He missed time during his college career with knee and ankle injuries and his physical running style could result in more wear and tear than the average back faces.

His blocking is also something that can be improved on.

    Final Thoughts

If you are looking at the record books, Kenneth Dixon is a top five pick. When you analyze his game and medical history, his stock takes a bit of a dip. Regardless of those isolated concerns, Dixon is a competitive north-south runner who will give you more than you asked for. He’s sure to be a steal on day two of the draft this spring.
