Martellus Bennett is gone. Time to move on. It seems the Bears are content to ride it out with Zach Miller for the time being, but that doesn’t mean they won’t look to add some youth at tight end, what with Rob Housler and Khari Lee as their best reserve options at the moment. Given the overall weakness of a class, the team might as well take late round flier on a talented upside.

Beau Sandland can’t say he’s a polished gem by any stretch. Not coming out of Montana State. His showing at the combine (35-inch vertical jump, 124-inch broad jump) proved he is a solid athlete for 6’4″, 253 lbs. Better still, he was tasked with significantly more blocking assignments than many others in this class. So he’s more advanced than one might realize. It will just take some time, patience and a little luck to get him acclimated to the speed and talent he’ll be facing in the NFL.
. TE. Montana State. Beau Sandland . 185. player. 57
