QB. N.C. State. Jacoby Brissett . 106. player. 57. The Bears have stuck by their claims that they’ll take a quarterback in this draft, and with good reason. Jay Cutler, though entrenched as the starter, turns 33 this year and hasn’t completed a full season without injury since 2009. His playing style presents risk of further such problems, so having quality depth and a long-term option is paramount for the franchise. <p> </p> <p>For Jacoby Brissett, it’s not a question of desire or skill. The N.C. State quarterback has good size, a strong arm and showed a determination and competitiveness against top teams when he was starter. He makes good decisions with the ball and is accurate most of the time. The problem lay with consistency. His mechanics and fundamentals are far from polished and need work. Learning behind a proven veteran like Cutler under a solid coaching staff might be just the ticket he could ask for for.</p>
