The wide receiver market in NFL fantasy football leagues is about to get interesting what with a number of intriguing new names hoping to go from periodic flashes in 2015 to consistent success in 2016.  There are plenty of options that present this possibility, but here are five worth watching the most for owners out there.

DeVante Parker (Miami Dolphins)

Last year didn’t quite go as planned for DeVante Parker as he didn’t get on the field as much as he would’ve preferred.  However, the former 1st round pick appears poised to correct that this season.  He has a head coach in Adam Gase coming in who is known for his ability to elevate quarterbacks and admitted he had an eye on Parker when he was offensive coordinator in Chicago.  That interest hints at a promising future.

Dorial Green-Beckham (Tennessee Titans)

It took some time for him to adjust to the NFL speed but once Dorial Green-Beckham gained experience, he started to flash the absurd talent he had coming out of Missouri.  He finished 2015 with 549 yards and four touchdowns despite starting just five games.  With Marcus Mariota due to return health and hopefully better pass protection, Green-Beckham can take a gigantic leap forward this season.

Albert Wilson (Kansas City Chiefs)

Outside of Jeremy Maclin, the Chiefs are looking for a secondary wide receiver who can help add more diversity to their passing game.  One name that quietly began to emerge is Albert Wilson.  He became a more prominent target as the year went on and seemed to gain confident and comfort in the scheme.  Now that the team knows what he can do, expect the 5’9″ receiver to get off to a fast start.

Jaelen Strong (Houston Texans)

There is no denying that Jaelen Strong wishes his rookie year could’ve gone better.  He was dogged by problems both on and off the field  that forced him to miss six games and not get much action when he did play.  Still, he began to come around late in the year, showcasing his mix of size and explosion that make him such an inviting target.  With a fresh start and a new quarterback in Brock Osweiler, this could be his year.

Markus Wheaton (Pittsburgh Steelers)

Look at the stat line for each year Markus Wheaton has played for the Pittsburgh Steelers.  It shows a player that is trend up with his yards and touchdowns increasing each time.  Now with Martavis Bryant out of the picture, the team will be relying on him more than ever to help keep the heat off Antonio Brown.  That added attention from Ben Roethlisberger is almost certain to help fantasy owners.
