Chicago Bears Mock Draft: The Wilkerson Scenario

LSU. Jerald Hawkins . 72. player. 57. Are the Bears 100% believers in Charles Leno Jr.?  Only they know the answer to the that question but one must admit it’s hard to believe that’s the case.  While there is no denying the former 7th round pick and backup emerged to have a decent season at left tackle, it isn’t like he dominated.  He was functional for the most part, and that was enough. <p> </p> <p>Yet if there’s a chance for them to get better in this draft, is it really reasonable to think they wouldn’t take it?  Of course not.  John Fox is a practical coach who loves creating competition.  Jerald Hawkins is a big tackle with long arms and quick feet to handle the variety of pass rushers he’d see at the pro level.  Most of his problems are technical in nature from hand use to waist bend.  Those are correctable.  Hawkins is a good athlete for his size with enough power to impact the ground game like Fox wants from his fronts.</p>.
