player. 30. Age is becoming a major factor along much of the New York Jets offensive line from left tackle D’Brickashaw Ferguson to center Nick Mangold. This team built its success on great blocking last year and has to start investing in young bodies soon to begin replacing those veterans or they risk a major dropoff at the worst possible time: during a transition to a young quarterback.
Rees Odhiambo might be an ideal choice for them because he brings experience playing both guard and tackle from Boise State. He’s a tough, committed worker who is devoted to the success of his team and has the talent on top of it. He’s got the wide base and power to move inside and thrive but is a good enough athlete with adequate length to make a living on edges. It comes down to where the Jets feel he’d be the best fit and whether they trust his health issues are behind him (broke ankle last season).
. OG. Boise State. Rees Odhiambo . 51
