West Virginia. Wendell Smallwood . 184. player. 31. There are two kinds of players that can go far in the NFL. Really talented ones and really smart ones who work hard. Wendell Smallwood does not lack for talent, but his strengths lead much more towards the latter. A very aware player on the football field, demonstrating so with his solid blocking. Throw in a good pair of hands for receiving and decent speed make him a versatile weapon out of the backfield. <p>The Giants still don’t have a combination of backs who can get things going on the ground for them. Rashad Jennings was a flop and Andre Williams simply lacks the athleticism and explosiveness. While Smallwood didn’t have a ton of big plays at West Virginia, he’s one of those high quality types who are quite good at stockpiling good runs together. A real chains-mover who will get first downs and keep the offense in rhythm.</p>. RB
