One of the most intriguing running backs on the market, the speedy Lamar Miller has found his home after entering NFL free agency.

Miller has plenty to offer a team.  Here is an update on what he can do for them.

"“Lamar Miller is quickly emerging as one of the best dual-threat backs in the NFL after going vastly under-drafted four years ago coming out of Miami. There were reportedly some long-term injury concerns with Miller, which should be taken into consideration here, but he looked great to me over the last two seasons, rushing for eight touchdowns in each of the last two years and catching a total of 85 passes with three more scores through the air. As impressive as his last two years have been, the ceiling on Miller hasn’t even come close to being reached. He’s a dynamic back with great speed and vision. He should be just scratching the surface of what he can do.”"

Given the speed and versatility Miller has, the type of scheme he plays in shouldn’t matter as much as how the team uses him.  Houston runs a classic pro-style offense that should feature a balanced attack with a big, physical offensive line.  Throw in the perfect conditions of Reliant Stadium and it’s tailor made for a back with Millers’ speed and agility.

One of the biggest problems the Texans faced on offense was lack of a running game after Arian Foster went down.  Lamar Miller brings youth, talent and depth all in one.  It allows them to focus their entire effort moving forward on solving their biggest problem, which is finding a quarterback who can get them over the top.  Whomever that ends up being, he’ll have Miller and DeAndre Hopkins waiting for him.
