Philip Rivers was able to have another productive season on the stat sheet, but that did not come without a price. Once against the San Diego Chargers quarterback was forced to overcome an injury-riddled and undermanned offensive line that was all that talented to begin with. It needs reinforcements in the worst way no matter which direction they come from.

A proven left tackle like Russell Okung might be just the ticket. He’s a former Pro Bowler in his prime, steady in pass protection and may actually be a bigger help in the running game where San Diego is hoping to unleash Melvin Gordon. His struggles in 2015 were a big reason the team couldn’t close out more games. Okung has his share of injury concerns, but by and large is in a substantial upgrade over King Dunlap and whomever else they have.
.
