OT. Cleveland. Mitchell Schwartz . 5. player. 42. Chip Kelly learned a hard lesson last season. It’s that no amount of offensive scheming can make up for the lack of a quality offensive line. The San Francisco 49ers have lost a number of key pieces over the past few years and must try to reload. One bothersome spot is right tackle, left voided by Anthony Davis who retired abruptly a year ago.

Even as he tries to return, the 49ers look to move on by grabbing Mitchell Schwartz. He was a revelation for Cleveland in 2015, becoming one of their most dependable pass protectors on the edge while giving a solid effort on the ground. He’s young and not the biggest household name, so his price may not be too high. Combining him with Joe Staley will give Kelly a pair of bookends to begin building around whichever young quarterback he ends up starting.
