Green Bay Packers

49. Another team that is adept at keeping its own players rather than fish for free agents is the Green Bay Packers. Casey Hayward is one of the top priorities given his value to the secondary as a coverage specialist. The last thing they can afford is losing him while they’re trying to also shore up other areas like linebacker and the trenches.

Hayward didn’t have the most productive season in 2015, failing to collect a single interception or forced fumble. Still, he was much better the year before and being 26-years old suggests the best of his career is still to come. What it comes down to is perceived value. Hayward may think he deserves front line money, while the Packers might view him as a solid #2 or #3 corner. That is a massive difference in terms of cash. Chances are Ted Thompson will find a way to work it out.
.
