New York Giants

19. player. 31. Don’t be surprised. The Giants are in a mode of acquistion at this point. Their defense remains their Achilles heel and the pass rush the primary source of problems. Simply retaining Jason Pierre-Paul won’t be enough. Other quality rushers are needed. Since they haven’t been coming via the draft, then free agency must pick up the slack.

Charles Johnson turns 30 this year, so he’s not too old just yet. Injuries slowed him in 2015, leading to just one sack in nine games. Still, when he is healthy the man is good for eight to 11 sacks every year. It likely won’t cost the Giants in exorbitant amount of money to make this deal happen and gives them flexibility moving forward in regards to how they can operate in the NFL draft. Who knows. If he and Pierre-Paul regain their old forms, it could be a huge boost.
. DE. Carolina. Charles Johnson
