Chicago Bears

The defensive line was a mishmash of undrafted free agents, out of position players, older veterans and inexperienced draft picks for the Chicago Bears in 2015. It’s little wonder their run defense and pass rush weren’t up to par. Improving that area should trickle back through the rest of the unit and lead to greater success this coming season.

Ian Williams was one of the quieter names worth noting last season. He played on a team that struggled but had one of his best personal seasons, showing his prowess as a big run defender but with adding quickness to push the pocket as a pass rusher. His familiarity with Vic Fangio, the Bears’ defensive coordinator, who groomed him San Francisco, makes this a logical landing spot for the 26-year old where can pair with emerging young stud Eddie Goldman to form a big and versatile front.
.
