NFL Weekly Recap: Prospects Prepare for the NFL Combine
Each week we will recap some of the big stories relating to the NFL and NFL Draft. This will also include a quick NFL prospect profile of an up and coming name in this years NFL Draft.
– Reports around the league are saying that the Washington Redskins’ front office are split between keeping QB Kirk Cousins. The team has until March 1st to place a franchise tag if that is the route the team was going to take.
– Pittsburgh Steelers’ TE Heath Miller retires after 11 years with the team. He finished as the team’s all-time leader in receptions (592), rec yards (6,569), & receiving touchdowns (45) by a tight end.
– Cowboys’ defensive end Randy Gregory has been suspended for the first four games of next season after violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy.
– The Los Angeles Rams released LB James Laurinaitis, DE Chris Long, and TE Jared Cook. Each should be considered extensively during free agency.
– Carolina DE Jared Allen retired after 12 seasons in the NFL. He finished his career with 169 sacks.
