The reasoning behind this pick is fairly simple. Olivier Vernon, the Miami Dolphins top free agent is expected to test the market and likely go to another team. If that weren’t bad enough, their best rusher Cameron Wake is coming off a torn Achilles and is entering his mid-30s. This team has no legitimate, young edge rusher to pair with Ndamukong Suh. If they want to have any chance in the AFC East, that must change.

Clemson stud Kevin Dodd showed down the stretch of this past season that he is an emerging force. He had a sack in the final five games including three against what was viewed as a pretty darn good Alabama offensive line. He’s big and strong with terrific instinct and a relentless motor that just wears blockers out as the game goes on. Still raw in some areas due to lacking experience, but easy fixes for a good coach.
. DE. Clemson. Kevin Dodd. 8. player. 59
