Jarran Reed. 27. player. 49.
Ted Thompson has said he doesn’t believe inside linebackers are what great defenses are built around, despite the clear need at the position for the Green Bay Packers. Whether or not people agree with this is immaterial. If he won’t look to improve there, then it stands to reason he’ll try helping the struggling position in another way. Often the best solution is beefing up the defensive line.

“Beef” is the operative word when describing Jarran Reed. The big Alabama defensive tackle is a classic space eater whom blockers must devote at least two bodies to consider moving in the run game. Even then it’s difficult due to his substantial power and instincts. With B.J. Raji an unknown commodity, Reed can instantly step in at nose tackle for the Packers and help keep offensive linemen away from the linebackers.
. DT. Alabama
