Defensive End

The success of the Kansas City Chiefs defensive line ultimately came down to two men:  Dontari Poe and Jaye Howard.  When they had things going, the entire defense thrived.  Howard is now a free agent and getting him back is critical.  Beyond that the team should consider trying to improve the depth at the end position, preferably with somebody who can help the pass rush.

Given money restrictions they might want to consider Akiem Hicks.  The New England Patriots got great use out of him when they traded for him from New Orleans.  He works well in a rotational role and can do a little of everything on the field.  In 13 games he posted three sacks and 18 pressures while performing consistently well against the run.
