Cam Newton can do things most quarterbacks can’t but like any great quarterback he’s at his absolute best when he has solid blocking in front of him.  That’s a big reason he’s had an MVP year.  The Panthers offensive line has been outstanding.  However, they do have lingering weak points, specifically at the tackle spots that could use some attention. <p>That and the fact Taylor Decker is still on the board compels them to make this pick.  Decker probably should’ve gone sooner but the board just fell that way.  The big Ohio State tackle could play left tackle.  He has enough athleticism, but his game is run blocking where his size and power count most.  Chances are his best position would be right tackle where he could anchor for the next decade.</p>.
