53. Hue Jackson has a history of preferring quarterbacks with big arms to push the ball down the field. So he might be a little upset that the Cleveland Browns miss on Wentz. Still, it’s not like Jared Goff is a slouch. He can throw deep too, and has proven himself the most accurate of the top quarterbacks in the 2016 class.
With Johnny Manziel all but gone, this is a pick that has to happen for Cleveland. Goff represents the fresh start at quarterback they so desperately need. He’s got the tools including size and poise within the pocket. There are still lingering concerns about his somewhat thin frame and inconsistent mechanics but that can be improved with good coaching. Jackson knows what it takes to develop top passers. Goff will be in capable hands.
.
