Johnny Manziel sucks, both on the field and off

Cleveland Browns quarterback and soon-to-be free agent Johnny Manziel sucks, both as a player and as a person…

Johnny Manziel is talented. He’s marketable. He’s a Heisman Trophy winner. He’s a former All-American and first round NFL draft pick.

Too bad he’s also a moron.

As an NFL draft analyst and self-proclaimed talent evaluator, you have to be willing to eat a loss every now and again, sadly more often than not. Here’s my 2014 NFL Draft scouting report on Manziel, which to my credit includes a very large caveat that he must drop his charade in order to be the type of prospect I watched on tape.

The biggest problem?

He hasn’t grown up.

Had Manziel stayed in college for the entirety of his eligibility, he would just be graduating this year. Still, for a young man graduating from college to have the rap sheet of a person like Manziel is something any prospective employer would scoff at.

His arrogance, his incompetence, and his lack of intelligence or common sense have led us all to a point where we can now only accept one fact and one fact alone: Johnny Manziel doesn’t get it, and he sucks.

He sucks as a football player, and he sucks as a person.

Unfortunately, Johnny (if you’re reading this, which we know you’re not, because you’re better than all of us), reality hurts. Soon, as has been reported, you will be an NFL free agent. What’s even more pathetic, is that you’ll get another chance with an NFL team and the narrative will be that you’re getting a ‘second’ chance when in reality, this is more like your 37th or 38th chance, even though most of us have probably stopped counting.

What was cute as a pre-pubescent college frat boy act has now turned into an infuriating sack of trash. None of us as NFL fans have the patience to wait for you to grow up when everyone else who desires success in the real world actually cares about the way they are perceived, the way they come across as human beings, and the way they treat others.

I believed that Manziel could clean up his act. I fell for the prospect and I even let myself believe that at some point or another, things could work out in Cleveland. I can’t imagine the way the people who drafted Manziel feel, how stupid it makes them look anytime they go to apply for a job, and how many people he truly let down over the course of his three seasons with the Cleveland Browns.

Manziel has been nothing but a disgrace to the game. Laughable on the field, and an embarrassment off of it.
