Contrary to what the record says, the Cowboys defense played some good football in 2015 under the direction of Rod Marinelli.  A huge part of it was the play of their defensive line.  Unfortunately that includes the much-maligned Greg Hardy who was effective on the field but an absolute mess away from it.  That is why rumors are rampant the team doesn’t plan to bring him back.

Like it or not, such a decision leaves the pass rush vulnerable and in need of a boost.  Luckily the 2016 class appears loaded with potential 4-3 ends who can get after the quarterback.  A name that is shooting up boards is Clemson standout Kevin Dodd.  After living in the shadow of teammate Shaq Lawson, several now believe Dodd is the better prospect.  He’s relentless on every play, shows discipline with his technique and awareness, and exhibits a mix of athleticism and power.

Best of all?  He has zero off-the-field baggage.  The one drawback is he’s still inexperienced.  So Dallas will be taking a bit of a risk depending on where they take him.  If it’s the 2nd round, it’s a steal.
