Chicago Bears: Senior Bowl Names To Watch
By Erik Lambert
By now fans have gotten acquainted with some of the players at the Senior Bowl whom the Chicago Bears have taken an interest in. Included among them is Alabama linebacker Reggie Ragland, Maryland defensive end Quinton Jefferson and Ohio State wide receiver Braxton Miller. More names will be added before it’s all said and done. The question is who else could the Bears be watching carefully down in Mobile?
Here are a few names to keep an eye on.
Sebastian Tretola (OG, Arkansas)
They build them big down in Razorback country. Tretola is a massive 6’5″, 334 lbs guard who is known for his powerful run blocking. Not a surprise given his sheer mass. However, he showed in 2015 he also is reliable in pass protection. Maybe not the greatest mover in the world but rushers have a difficult time getting past him.
Tyler Matakevich (ILB, Temple)
This kid has been creeping up the boards since the end of the season. He was enormously productive at Temple (138 tackles, 4.5 sacks, 5 interceptions) and is renowned for his consistency, work ethic and leadership. A true heart and soul type who can man the inside linebacker position. If teams can look past his limited speed, he has the dedication to become a capable starter.
Miles Killebrew (S, Southern Utah)
Small school prospects tend to fly under the radar but Miles Killebrew won’t be hiding much longer. The Southern Utah prospect is a classic box safety, known for his violent downfield style that features plenty of hard hits but also dedication to technique as a tackler. He isn’t much more than functional in coverage, but he overcomes his limitations with intelligence.
