54. Doug Pederson is no fool. As an offensive-minded guy, he knows this modern NFL runs through the quarterback position. With Sam Bradford a 50/50 chance at best to stay, the Philadelphia Eagles must prepare to do whatever they can to get a quarterback for their future, including a trade up in the 1st round.
That is what they’re forced into. Swinging a deal with Baltimore, they jump up to grab two-time FCS national champion Carson Wentz. One of the hot names on the scouting circuit, he is a tall 6’6″ quarterback with better than average speed, creating plays with his legs. He’s got a solid, over-the-top delivery that has velocity and good ball placement. Physically he’s the total package. Time will tell if the jump in competition reveals a problem.
.
