An aggressive play by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but not a surprising one. They promoted Dirk Koetter for one reason: to ensure the stability and success of quarterback Jameis Winston. He is their future and that must be kept safe. That will require good blocking up front, something the Bucs didn’t get much of at the tackle positions.
Ole Miss standout Laremy Tunsil looks like an NFL left tackle in every sense. He’s big and strong enough to open holes in the running game but retains enough athleticism, length and nimble feet to stop pass rushers of any and all types. Provided his leg is fully healed (broken at end of 2014 season), this could be that blind side protector every great quarterback needs.
.
