If one were to look at where things went wrong for the Arizona Cardinals in the NFC Championship game, most would point the finger at Carson Palmer. Though valid in some aspects, another culprit was the inability of their defensive front to stop or even slow down Cam Newton in any way.
That must be improved if they wish to take that final step. Vernon Butler is an emerging prospect that has that ideal 3-4 defensive end size (6’3″, 325 lbs). He’s a good athlete for his size and boasts arm in excess of 34 inches in length. Not only is he strong but also quick, making him a dangerous pass rusher. Top it off with a high motor and he should make a fine addition.
.
