Kevin Dodd. 10. player. 31. The promotion of Ben McAdoo was meant for Eli Manning, but the reason the New York Giants haven’t been relevant in the playoff picture for going on five years now is because of their defense. It is a mere shadow of what it once was, and a big reason for that is the deterioration of the pass rush. Jason Pierre-Paul is an unknown due to his fireworks injury and free agent status. Beyond him they have nobody on the edge considered anywhere near blue chip.
In order to fix that they may have to take a calculated risk. Kevin Dodd didn’t become a factor as an edge rusher until this past season but when he did the defensive end was dominant. He’s got the size and strength to go along with that important high motor and explosive first step. He lacks experience but such things are fixed with time.
.
