Few things to note:

    • Barring unforeseen circumstances, Joey Bosa and Jalen Ramsey are locked at the top.  They are arguably the two best overall prospects in the country.  Each could be considered as close to a slam dunk as possible in a draft.  Bosa is a violent and powerful pass rusher with size.  Ramsey is a versatile, instinctive defensive back who has Pro Bowl talent for both corner and safety.
    • Some will be surprised at how high DeForest Buckner ranks at #4.  Don’t be.  The Oregon defensive end is a force but more importantly the ideal fit for a 3-4 scheme.  He’s everything the Bears could want at that position, considered even better than former teammate Arik Armstead who went 15th overall to the 49ers last year.
    • Yes Jaylon Smith is still ranked high in spite of his knee injury that resulted in a torn ACL and LCL.  Why?  He’s special.  Not many players in a given draft have that word attached to them, but Smith is one.  Surgery was a success and doctors predict a full recovery.  Smith is a complete football player with size, speed, athleticism and awareness made for inside linebacker.  It may require a little patience before he’s fully healthy, but given what happened with Todd Gurley, it’s worth the wait.
    • People will wonder why Jared Goff is ranked so high.  The Bears have Cutler.  A quarterback in the 1st round isn’t a priority.  Right.  Many said the same thing when the Packers took Aaron Rodgers in 2005.  They weren’t looking for a quarterback at the time either.  That wasn’t the point.  The point was Rodgers should never have dropped that far.  There comes a time when the value of the prospect outweighs the need of the team.  If Goff, who is the best QB in the class, somehow falls to them at #11, they must consider taking him.
    • Bears fans say they’re comfortable with the idea of Jeremy Langford and Ka’Deem Carey being the 1-2 punch moving forward in the running game.  Imagine if it were Langford and Ezekiel Elliot or Langford and Derrick Henry.  Exactly.
    • Just felt it needed to be pointed out how awesome it would be if the Bears ended up getting Kendall Fuller in the 2nd round.  The thought of having two actual brothers starting at cornerback on an NFL teams is just great stuff.
