5. player. 52. Gus Bradley has been trying to build the Legion of Boom-style defense he helped construct in Seattle with the Jacksonville Jaguars. He’s gotten some good pieces in place but a key one that is missing is a cornerback who can match up and smother best opposing receivers.
Considering he’s just a sophomore and 5’10”, it’s remarkable how far along Mackensie Alexander already is as a cover man out of Clemson. Athletic and aggressive, he plays man-to-man with a confidence that nobody will beat him and he has the fluidic agility and toughness to play that way. Him, along with a returning Dante Fowler could be the real jumpstart this defense needs.
. CB. Clemson. Mackensie Alexander
