Ohio State. Darron Lee. 28. player. 124. Derrick Johnson isn’t getting any younger. The inside linebacker has been an anchor for the Kansas City Chiefs defense for years but the team needs to start thinking about finding a possible understudy who can replace him whenever his time is up.
Given the success of Ryan Shazier in Pittsburgh, the idea of faster inside linebackers is catching on in the NFL. It seems fitting Darron Lee comes from the same school. His speed, athleticism and tackling prowess are all big positives. Playing coverage is something he can do too, though he’s much better going forward. That should suit the Chiefs just fine.
.
