#3:  Baltimore Ravens trade up for Jalen Ramsey

Ozzie Newsome may have an offensive background from when he was a player, but his long tenure as GM of the Baltimore Ravens has taught him an important lesson:  great defense all have great safeties protecting the back end.  It was true with Rod Woodson in 2000 and again for so many years with Ed Reed.  The Ravens are trying to find that again.

If they could somehow jump up to grab Florida State product Jalen Ramsey, they would have that again.  Already this kid is generating comparisons to former All-Pro Brian Dawkins.  He is the ideal mix of size, athleticism, toughness and instinct.   He’s strong enough to tackle but fast enough to cover like a corner.  Safeties are almost never good enough to go first overall.  Ramsey is, and that’s ultra-rare.
