3rd Round

Temple. Tyler Matakevich. 3. player. 57. Back to inside linebacker again, this time for value. The first thing scouts will harp on as to why Tyler Matakevich goes in the 3rd round is because he’s not the most athletic linebacker. He doesn’t have great speed or agility. Not that it matters. His uncanny instinct and awareness make up for it as he was a tackling machine for Temple.
Matakevich is what coaches would call a tone-setter. He’s a physical presence who provides an edge to the defense both in how he plays and how he’s able to inspire teammates. A true heart and soul type. The Bears don’t have nearly enough of those kinds of guys on their team. Put him next to Jack in the middle and expect to see good things happen.
.
