Clemson Offense

Jordan Leggett (TE)

Alabama has the number one ranked rushing defense in the country. Their secondary is loaded with talent as well. So how does Clemson move the ball? The answer is by targeting tight end Jordan Leggett.

Leggett has said he’s leaning towards returning to school next season, but that could change with a standout performance against Alabama. The junior TE leads the Tigers in receiving touchdowns and is third in receptions. He caught just one pass for five yards in the Orange Bowl against Oklahoma, but expect those numbers to skyrocket Monday night.

In Alabama’s last two games, the tight ends have caused the most headaches for the secondary. Michigan State’s Josiah Price led the Spartans in receiving yards, while Florida’s Jake McGee caught the most passes for the Gators in the SEC Championship Game. If Clemson is going to have any success throwing the football, Jordan Leggett will be a big reason why.

Eric Mac Lain (LG)

The Clemson offensive line has been dominant all season. However, the front five have seen nothing like what they’re going to see Monday night. Alabama defensive linemen A’Shawn Robinson, Jonanthan Allen and Jarran Reed are all potential first-round picks in the 2016 NFL Draft. The Clemson line will have their hands full and need to keep Deshaun Watson upright if Clemson is going to have a chance.

That starts with left guard Eric Mac Lain who will see plenty of Robinson throughout the game. Mac Lain is the only starter on the Clemson offensive line to not allow a sack all year. The battle between Clemson’s best offensive lineman and Alabama’s best defensive lineman will have a huge impact on this game and is one NFL teams will certainly keep their eyes on.
