Allen Robinson Deserves Pro Bowl Spot Over A.J. Green
When the NFL announced the 2016 Pro Bowl rosters, the first name I noticed missing was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars. While it’s not often you hear someone say that, this case is pure robbery. Second year receiver Allen Robinson, who’s tied with Pro Bowler Odell Beckham Jr with the NFLs’ most touchdowns with 13, is a glaring absentee on this years roster.
In my opinion, Robinson is more deserving than perennial Pro Bowler AJ Green and was snubbed based on his name and team.

Green, who will be making his fifth Pro Bowl in as many years, is a great receiver in this league. I’m not doubting his talent or highlight reel catches. This year though, he’s been out played by a guy with less talent around him.
When you look at the stats there’s a clear argument for Robinson over Green. The Bengals receiver has only managed eight touchdowns this season, while Robinson leads the NFL with 13. Oh, and Robinson has done that with fewer catches than Green. More bang for your buck from Robinson.
Second, you can argue the team affiliation once again plays a role in this. The Jacksonville Jaguars have never been a “sexy” pick for anyone to make. The Cincinnati Bengals have been a good regular season team for the past couple years and were Super Bowl contenders before Andy Dalton broke his finger. Favoritism at it’s best once again.
Now, with injuries and playoff teams still to be decided, Robinson can still make it to Hawaii in just his second year out of Penn State. A Larry Fitzgerald or AJ Green could have a chance of making the Super Bowl, meaning they would have for forgo playing in this years game. None the less, Robinson is just as deserving as these other guys who made it once again.
