College Football Playoffs: Top Five Remain the Same; OKST Moves to Six

facebooktwitterreddit

The third set of College Football Playoffs rankings are in, and there have been no changes to the top five teams. Deshaun Watson and the Clemson Tigers remain number one after beating unranked Syracuse 37-27 in their quest to remain undefeated in the 2015 season.

At number two, Alabama shows up once again after winning 31-6 against ranked Mississippi State. The defending National Champions Ohio State Buckeyes are at number three for a third consecutive week after beating Illinois.

In the final spot, the Notre Dame remains in the playoff picture. Their quarterback Deshone Kizer beat unranked Wake Forrest 28-7 last Saturday.

At number five and six are the Iowa Hawkeyes and the Oklahoma State Cowboys. The undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes remain in the number five position and are clearly on their way to the Big Ten Championship. A win in that game will certainly place them in the College Football Playoffs.

Here’s the rest of the top ten.

Here’s the entire of the rankings along with that programs ranking from the first poll last week:

  1. Clemson (1)
  2. Alabama (2)
  3. Ohio State (3)
  4. Notre Dame (4)
  5. Iowa (5)
  6. Oklahoma State (8)
  7. Oklahoma (12)
  8. Florida (11)
  9. Michigan State (13)
  10. Baylor (6)
  11. Stanford (7)
  12. Michigan (14)
  13. Utah (10)
  14. Florida State (16)
  15. LSU (9)
  16. Navy (20)
  17. North Carolina (23)
  18. TCU (15)
  19. Houston (24)
  20. Northwestern (18)
  21. Memphis (21)
  22. Ole Miss (UR)
  23. Oregon (UR)
  24. USC (UR)
  25. Wisconsin (25)

There are a couple of teams I notice missing after being ranked last week. Temple, UCLA, and Mississippi State did not make the poll this time around, but there’s still a lot of games to play. Teams such as USC, Oregon, and Ole Miss are the new faces on this weeks top 25 rankings.

Here are the NFL Mocks predictions entering into the night. The poll will undergo several facelifts as we head towards the final poll at the end of the season.
