Leonard Williams, DL, Jets (1st round, 6th overall) The consensus best defensive player in this past year’s draft has been ‘as-advertised’ with the Jets so far this season, coming in and replacing Sheldon Richardson in the starting lineup while Richardson served a four-game suspension to open up the year.

So far this season, Williams has 24 tackles, five tackles for loss, and half a sack. The key here is that he’s contributing — in a big way — to one of the best defenses in the NFL right now and an ascending Jets team that has a legitimate chance at making the playoffs.

The great news for Jets fans is also this — Williams was one of the youngest players in this year’s draft class. He’s barely reached the surface of his potential in this league.
