QB Gunner Kiel has incredible performance vs. Central Florida
One of the most intriguing quarterbacks in college football that not a lot of people talk about had everyone talking on Saturday. Cincinnati Bearcats QB Gunner Kiel was absolutely incredible in a big time win over Central Florida on Saturday, completing 15-of-15 passes for 319 yards and five touchdowns.
If there’s a better-than-perfect QB rating, Kiel likely achieved it on Saturday.
Granted, UCF isn’t the toughest opponent, but against any level or even in a practice 7-on-7 session, those kind of numbers are impressive.
Kiel has NFL starter written all over him but has battled injuries and a very long, winding road to supremacy in college football this season. He had committed to approximately 19 schools before eventually winding up at Cincinnati, where he has enjoyed a lot of success. He had Twitter buzzing on Saturday —
If I’m an NFL team in need of a quarterback, I’m not going to be too upset if Gunner Kiel is the guy I wind up with coming out of this year’s NFL Draft. It’s an incredibly intriguing group of players from top to bottom at the QB position available this year, but Kiel may top the list of most interesting.
He’s battled injury this year but if he can continue to play at a high level down the stretch, he’s going to be high on the priority list for NFL teams.
