This scenario is based around the idea that Pace fully plans to maintain the status quo on offense. That is to keep Cutler at quarterback with Alshon Jeffery, Kevin White and Eddie Royal as his primary targets. In doing so, he uses the opportunity to focus the top of his draft at reloading the defense.

DE. Baylor. Shawn Oakman. 2. player. 57. <p>From a sheer physical perspective, Shawn Oakman must have pro scouts and coaches drooling over the possibilities. At 6’8″ he has tremendous length and is in supreme condition. When he uses his full power going forward he can drive blockers in the lap of the quarterback but also has the athleticism of a linebacker to drop in coverage.</p> <p>He’s not fully developed yet, which is why he falls to the second round but if coached out of him he looks like a future star. Think of him as another Aldon Smith-type in that Fangio defense.</p>
player. 57. <p>SEC opponents are quickly learning to take more notice of Jonathan Allen. The Alabama defensive end is becoming a force as a pass rusher, able to do so from both the edge and the interior. Great coaching has taught him proper hand technique, which he uses to full effect.</p> <p>His size is much more in line with the defensive end position in a 3-4, which means he must show he can stop the run consistently but that pass rush skill will be so vital in the quarterback-rich NFC North.</p>.
