Just exactly what do the Chicago Bears have planned for the 2016 NFL draft?  It’s a question that will only grow in scope as the seasons winds down heading into December.  It’s unlikely the team will make the playoffs, and every action taken by GM Ryan Pace and his coaching staff indicate the biggest moves are still to come next spring.

The Bears are projected to have nine picks available, the most they’ve held since 2008.  It’s a grand opportunity to infuse this roster with top young talent, something they’ve failed to do for almost a decade.  Tantamount to everything, it’s a matter of how they will approach it.  What strategy will they use?

So to help create a series of possible answers to that question, it might be best to go through each scenario and see what shakes out from it.  Recently, Jared Mueller of Scout.com came up with an intriguing system to help with that.

"“When thinking forward to the NFL Draft, I like to think about options. What happens if the Browns draft ____ position in the 1st Round, how would that impact them in the 2nd Round? I use FanSpeak to create different NFL Mock Drafts. It is a great tool. Here are the 3 different NFL Mock Drafts I created for the Cleveland Browns. Each is a 3 Round version with the team going in different directions based on needs that they could fill:”"

Each draft will be separated by category, based on the type of strategy the Bears could employ.  As it stands the team is projected to pick 8th overall next April, so let us take a run through each possibility and how it might impact Pace’s decisions.

To keep things simple, only the first three rounds will be drafted in this experiment.
