This is the first of a weekly Daily Fantasy write-up we will see here at NFLMocks.com. In these articles we will check out the best plays of the week at each position, top sleeper plays of the week and the busts of the week. Let’s take a look at my lineup plays starting with the QB position.

Prices below are the average between some of the leading daily fantasy sites.

Quarterback Must Starts

Carson Palmer vs. Baltimore ($7,450): This is one of the more sure-fire picks of the weekend. Palmer has the best match up of any QB this week. Baltimore allows the most fantasy points to QBs this season and in an offense that has been shredding defense all year, this pick is as good as it gets this week. Palmer has been a top five fantasy QB this year and should shred this defense that allowed 340 yards and two touchdowns to Colin Kaepernick last week.

Phillip Rivers vs. Oakland ($7,250): After throwing for 65 pass attempts against Green Bay last week we should expect Rivers to keep tossing the ball around the field. Melvin Gordon is in the doghouse for fumbling which leaves pass catching RBs Danny Woodhead and Brandon Oliver left in the rotation. Oakland allows the ninth most fantasy points to QBs and the seventh least to RBs. Expect San Diego to keep throwing the football and to score a lot of points against this suspect Raiders secondary.

Sleeper

Jameis Winston ($5,800) vs. Washington: Tampa Bay is going to have to eventually throw the ball downfield to their big targets in Mike Evans and Vincent Jackson, this is the week I think they start that. Charles Sims has proved to be an effective pass catching option out the backfield and teams now have to start respecting Doug Martin in the run game. Winston could have his best game as a pro this year and he is cheap in most daily fantasy formats. If you are feeling comfortable take Winston, stack him with Mike Evans and load up the rest of your roster.

Busts

Cam Newton vs. Philadelphia ($7,350): It will be hard for Newton to expose this average secondary with the lack of weapons he has on the outside. Greg Olson will not be much of a factor because of the Eagles ability to cover tight ends effectively and the Eagles have only allowed 55 rushing yards to opposing QBs. It is going to be hard for Newton to score his worth this week against this Eagles defense who is slowly proving to be one of the better defenses in the NFC.
