A broken wrist has set back his 2015 season, but before that Carson Wentz was building a strong case for being a Day 2 pick next April. For an FCS quarterback playing at North Dakota State, there is no denying his top tier ability. At 6’6″ he has great size but can run with the ball and has shown an aptitude for playing under center or in shotgun. Reading the defense and knowing where to go with the ball is also something he excels at.
Arm strength is not a big issue and he knows how to spread the ball around. The rub of course is the injury and not being proven against top competition. Comparisons range but the one that made the most sense was a more mobile Matt Ryan. Again, assuming he fulfilled his potential.
