Christian Hackenberg (Penn State)
From a talent perspective, scouting eyes have constantly been watching Penn State quarterback Christian Hackenberg. He seems to possess every tool from the size, strength and mobility to the big arm. His maturity seems good as he accepts his responsibilities and certainly displays a degree of toughness required for the position.
The problem? His fundamentals are considerably underdeveloped while his decision-making is inconsistent. Part of why this is can be attributed to poor coaching and poor protection.
This is why his comparisons vary so widely from Troy Aikman to Sam Bradford. People aren’t sure how he’d respond with better circumstances. Still, the talent alone is worth taking the gamble, provided he’s not rushed into action.
