Fantasy Football Recap: Eagles v. Giants Monday Night Studs and Duds

facebooktwitterreddit

In tonight’s Monday Night Football match-up, the Eagles and Giants each had some critical fantasy football pieces. Between DeMarco Murray, Odell Beckham Jr, and Eli Manning, the potential for fantasy points tonight was strong. After it was all said and done, the Eagles rose victorious over the Giants by a final score of 27-7 thanks to some great defensive plays.

Here are some of the fantasy stats that we saw come out of tonight’s game.

We’ll also highlight what happened in our NFL Mocks Staff fantasy football league. You can get all the latest NFL Mocks fantasy advice from our Fantasy Football weekly previews as well right here.

Our Week Four Fantasy Studs and Duds are also available here.

Fantasy Stud of the Night: Philadelphia Eagles D/ST (22 fantasy points)

Oct 19, 2015; Philadelphia, PA, USA; Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Nolan Carroll (23) celebrates his 17-yard interception for a touchdown with outside linebacker Connor Barwin (98) and free safety Malcolm Jenkins (27) against the New York Giants during the second quarter at Lincoln Financial Field. My biggest sleeper in fantasy ever week and no one listens. Two interceptions, a fumble recovery, and a touchdown gave the Eagles a game high 22 fantasy points. Look for them on the waiver wire or in your daily fantasy leagues. They saved two of mine and helped me come out on top. They have one of the best front-sevens in the NFL, and they didn’t even start their  two best linebackers.

Fantasy Dud of the Night: Eli Manning (8 fantasy points)

After 30 fantasy points last week, Eli’s turnovers only got him eight points. Two interceptions and only 189 passing yards left him with that blank “Manning stare” for the majority of the night. He failed to get the ball to his playmakers and had zero time to get settled, leaving him with the fantasy dud of the night.

Fantasy Surprise of the Night: Odell Beckham Jr (12 fantasy points)

Ok, usually I make this slot for a no-name guy who performs well, but I had to highlight the surprise of Beckham’s limited catches in the second half. Eli Manning had zero time to get the ball to him and the majority of his points came from the Giant’s only touchdown of the game. After posting over 120 yards receiving last week, the sophomore receiver only managed half that tonight. His lack of production is my surprise of the night.
