Final Scouting Thoughts

  • He is not draft eligible yet but true freshman Alabama WR Calvin Ridley torched the Georgia Bulldogs secondary last week and is playing the X receiver which is the same position Julio Jones and Amari Cooper played. Ridley has the potential to tear up college football in a few years so keep an eye on him for the next few years because he could be a future top ten draft pick with his talent.
  • I have previously said that I prefer Mississippi State CB Taveze Calhoun over his teammate Will Redmond but I have now retracted that statement. Redmond has shown he is the much better cornerback this season, his cover skills are better than Calhoun’s and he is more of a pure CB than Calhoun is. While I am still a huge fan of Calhoun he needs to start making plays like he did last year, Redmond is out doing him this year.
  • James Madison QB Vad Lee is a name we should know for the NFL Draft. The former Georgia Tech QB has showcased his incredible running skills this season by averaging 118 yards per game and 7.9 yards per carry. Lee is a RB and it should be a pretty easy conversion for him since he was a triple option QB at Georgia Tech and primarily ran the ball. He is someone to keep an eye on and see if these rushing numbers hold up.
  • Auburn WR D’haquille (Duke) Williams was kicked off the Auburn football team this past week. He was seen as an early Day 2 receiver who’s draft stock is now plummeting. The talent is not the issue, he could be an absolute steal if a strong organization gets a hold of him late and tries to turn him around.
