LSU RB Leonard Fournette dominating beyond expectation

Just a sophomore in college, it’s easy to forget that LSU running back Leonard Fournette — braces and all — is still just a kid out there playing on the biggest stage of NCAA football. But as ESPN’s graphic points out, he’s playing like a man among boys right now.

Fournette has come out this season and absolutely crushed the opposition. As the title indicates, he’s dominating beyond expectation, and giving college football fans a show while causing NFL talent evaluators to salivate.

Not only that, but Fournette is also blurring the line between whether or not players should be allowed leave school after their sophomore season, or if they should skip their junior season as a way to keep their bodies from harm.

Fournette is the first player in SEC history (take some time to quantify that fact) to rush for over 200 yards in three straight games. Granted, this last game was against Eastern Michigan, but the fact is, Fournette is doing this against anyone and everyone who stands in LSU’s way.

Fournette has done a great job so far this season of creating probably the biggest Twitter buzz of any player and perhaps giving himself the highest expectations possible. That probably doesn’t matter for Fournette, because when you’re as good as he is, you welcome that kind of expectation level. You welcome the pressure.

Fournette is averaging 216 yards per game. He’s showing the rest of the world that he is not only the best running back in college football right now, he might be in line for the best season at that position in the history of the game.

Time will tell the whole story, but for right now, it’s a treat to be able to watch Fournette do his thing, and it will be really interesting to see how he approaches his future in college football with a lot of recent situations popping up of players who had outstanding freshman/sophomore campaigns and injuries derailed the start of their NFL careers, or their NFL hopes in general (i.e. Marcus Lattimore, Todd Gurley, Jadeveon Clowney — and that’s just SEC examples)…

For now, enjoy watching Fournette play, and witness history.
