Texas Longhorns at Another Crossroads
Once again, the University of Texas Longhorns fans are up in arms with their football teams performance Saturday afternoon. They fell to the number four ranked TCU Horned Frogs in a blowout game 50-7. Yet another loss will once again leave Head Coach Charlie Strong the target of much criticism. The former Louisville coach has yet to find success in his new home, and the pressure on him and his staff is beginning to mount.
The loss leaves the Longhorns with a 1-4 record, and winless throughout their in-conference games. The team used both quarterbacks in Saturdays game, finishing 13-28 with 122 passing yards combined and a touchdown. The team’s rushing attack was also spread out with five players combining for 191 rushing yards.
Texas defensive back Kris Boyd retweeted a fan’s tweet about transferring to Texas A&M during HALFTIME of the team’s loss to TCU.
Any repercussions (if any) from Texas regarding Boyd’s retweet during halftime are yet to be known.
Even members of the Texas Rangers social media staff tried to make a point on social media.
That point was not taken lightly by the Rangers.
Strong was supposed to be the savior to the Longhorns program after the departure of Mack Brown. Texas has been out scored this season 191-123, leaving fans calling for Strong’s firing after just two seasons.
Texas sits at the bottom of the Big 12 with Saturdays loss. They will face ranked opponent Oklahoma next week in an attempt to reclaim some of its former glory.
